|The “HOW TO” Of Organizational Integration
On the occasion of the second anniversary of DoBe Group’s International Community Festival, on July 20th, DoBe WE” will hold the lecture – The “How To” Of Organizational Integration which will be given by an expert in organizational cross-cultural conflict management, Dr Miguel Cerna.
“There is not such a thing as an organizational success unless there is integration, and there cannot be integration unless there is understanding of the mutual influence among departments”.
The history of business organizations shows that most companies are composed of separated units working under the umbrella of the organization’s name and that people in those units have little knowledge of what is going elsewhere in the organization. This disconnection represents an organizational loss that is seldom addressed, yet it significantly affects organizational survival.
Dr Miguel Cerna, an expert in organizational cross-cultural conflict management and Professor of International Management and Economics for MBA and EMBA programs at Jiaotong University, will discuss the complexity of interactions at work, the factors leading to organizational disintegration, and a generic methodology towards sustainable integration applicable to any type of organizations.
Join us and learn about METODO, a key strategy you can apply at your organization and teams to ensure that they function at their best.

|Beijing Global Employer Seminar Series:An Insider’s Glimpse of Working for Lianjia
Please register here. Registration will start at 19:00
The real estate sector is undoubtedly one that is quintessentially linked to discussions of China, both domestically and internationally. Indeed, property investment is one of the greatest testimonies of the spectacular growth of China’s middle class – in striking similarity with the ways in which tech and e-commerce tap into Chinese consumer trends. Yet, whilst it’s not too hard to imagine securing a job at a Chinese tech giant set on global expansion, how about joining a Chinese company predominantly focused on China’s domestic market?
This month, ACYA Beijing is excited to chat with Brett Hartley, a UNSW alumni who has accumulated over 10 years of China experience, and is currently working as a Director of International at Lianjia Homelink here in Beijing!
Following the traditional format of our Global Employer seminars, Brett will begin by giving a 10-minute introduction of the company, along with a brief discussion of how Lianjia fits into the real estate market in China, in order to contextualize our discussion and help those of us unfamiliar with the topic of real estate to grasp Lianjia’s potential.
Brett will then give a 10-minute presentation on his China journey, which will lead us into a 20-minute discussion on what it’s like to work for a Chinese real estate giant as a foreigner, and what lessons Brett took away from his various job positions, spanning across the Australia and China. We will finish the evening with a 20-minute Q & A and 30-minute Networking session to give everyone the chance to ask follow-up questions and mingle with fellow-young professionals and university students.

|KWM Update on China’s Cybersecurity Law: Key Takeaways for Foreign Firms
Cost: Free for members. 50RMB non-member
RSVP by sending an email to [email protected]
The new Cybersecurity Law of China took effect on June 1, 2017, and follow-up assessment measures in relation to cross boarder data transmission and security review of network products and services have been released by the Cyberspace Administration of China (“CAC”) recently; however, many companies are still unclear about the specific provisions of the regulations. Given the anticipated uncertain nature of the measures to be issued by regulatory authorities and the potentially high cost of non-compliance, companies should keep track of the new Cybersecurity Law and relevant implementation measures and closely monitor related developments to ensure their businesses are well prepared for cybersecurity and data compliance.
In order to inform members about how these changes in the regulations may affect them, King and Wood Mallesons and AustCham Beijing will host an update on China’s Cybersecurity Laws, especially focusing on how the changes may affect foreign firms.
The KWM Update on China’s Cybersecurity Laws: Key Takeaways for Foreign Firms has been rescheduled to take place on Tuesday 25 July will cover:
The event will feature a 30 minute presentation hosted by Susan Ning and her team, followed by a 20 minuted Q & A session with the audience.
