Following the success of past Careers Fairs delivered by the Australian Chamber of Commerce Shanghai (AustCham Shanghai) and the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), the two organisations will join forces to host the Australia China Careers Fair (ACCF) Roadshow in Shanghai and Beijing from June 30 – July 2, 2017. The Roadshow, supported by local partner LockinChina, will feature Careers Fairs in Shanghai (organised by AustCham Shanghai) and Beijing (organised by Austrade and supported by AustCham Beijing), as well as a Careers and Employability Forum in Shanghai prior to the Fairs. The Beijing Mentor Walks started in 2013. This year’s participating organisations include Capital M, AmCham, AustCham and the Australian Embassy in Beijing, BritCham, VIVA and the Beijing Women Network. The program brings together established and emerging women leaders in our community for a morning walk to discuss professional and personal successes, challenges and aspirations. We’re excited to launch the 2017 Mentor Walks with a special Kick-Off Walks and morning tea.

Mentor Walks bring together established women leaders and emerging women leaders in our community to connect, learn and share experiences. As they walk, they discuss their professional and personal challenged, successes, aspirations and lessons learned.

From April until October, Mentors and Mentees gather in the park for an informal early morning walk on the 2nd Friday of every month. We meet at 7:45am at the South Gate of Ritan Park and walk in smaller groups for approximately an hour. The Mentor Walks kick-off in March and close in November is held at Capital M, with a larger group Mentor and Mentee gathering and walk around the Qianmen Walking Street.

She is the founder of theVillage People Project, a supporter of the arts and literature including the Shanghai Literary Festival and M Literary Residency and is behind the Mentor Walks Asia concept which is now offered in China and Australia.

Michelle Garnaut began her career as one of China’s most celebrated restaurateurs in 1989, when she opened M at the Fringe in Hong Kong. In 1999, M on the Bund opened, the first independent restaurant on the historic Shanghai waterfront.Today, Michelle’s M Restaurant Group includes M on the Bund, Capital M in Beijing and Glam, a chic Shanghai dining lounge.Michelle is the recipient of many international honours, including, in September 2015, the inaugural award in Food at the Advance Global Australian Awards.

About Chen Yu
Chen Yu is Senior Vice President and co-founder of YeePay – a leading e-payment service provider in China. Chen has over 20 years of software and Internet experience. Before founding YeePay, Chen spent 7 years at Oracle where he was responsible for Product Management, Marketing and Strategic Alliances for Oracle Application Server and Internet/eCommerce solutions. Prior, he held various positions at John Deere and AT&T Bell Labs. Chen is also an influential “Internet Evangelist” in China. In 2015, he cofounded “The Internet Van” – a non-profit initiative to help promote Internet adoption in traditional industries. In 2013, Chen served as an advisor to China Central Television’s 10-episode feature documentary “The Internet Age”, in which he interviewed many well-known industry figures including Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, Reid Hoffman, Jerry Yang, Vint Cerf. Chen received his MS from Illinois Institute of Technology and BS from Beijing University, both in Computer Science.

About Tian Luan
Tian Luan is working at the management company of Innoway, which is the startup street in Beijing (the heart of startup eco-system in China). He is in charge of several business modules including Global Incubation, Large Corporations Collaboration, Online and Offline Platforms, Startups Mentoring. He has worked aboard for 15 years, acting as the mentor and judge for several international startup competitions. He is also the researcher in the field of cross-border e-commerce, helping international startups, which are interested in Chinese market. Besides, he also helps large corporations deal with internal innovations.
