BYLR editors, Iris and Eli, are hosting the first ever Bilingual Creative Writing Workshop! It will be hosted at the Bookworm on July 29th at 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. The two will instruct 14 – 19 year-olds in both English and Mandarin on the art of haikus! Haikus are a traditional Japanese style of literature that can be translated into any language. The only rule is that it must have three lines: the first being 5 syllables, the second being 7 syllables, and the last being another 5 syllables. Come together with other young writers and artists to perfect the art of the haiku, and share your work.
